Abstract Tula [“City life is a whirl of poetry readings”] BY MARGARITA ENGLE City life is a whirl of poetry readings and forbidden tertulias, gatherings where young and old, rich and poor, male and female, dark and light-- runaway slaves and freed ones, former masters and former servants—all take turns sharing secret verses rooted in startling new ideas.
Each evening, I go home with a mind that glows in the light of words, which leap like flames...
When I read this I think that in a city a lot is going on. If you just take a step back and look around the city isn't crazy, it is beautiful.

The lobster and phone make people think

Minimalist
Photographer- Mark Meyer https://www.photo-mark.com/
Through these recourses I have found out minimalism doesn't need to be some extreme setup. Mark Meyer used his window that was frozen over for some of his pictures. To start keeping things basic is best then as you develop more then add more details.
All these artist take their pictures of everyday things. Some things in are every day life we might not notice and have became routine. Every day pictures capture the basic things that are used or done daily. Helpful resource- https://www.thephotoargus.com/32-beautiful-photos-of-everyday-life/

Portrait
Annie Leibovitz
She lost 2 important people to her
She was constantly moving as a child with her family in a station wagon
First pictures she took was in Philippians on a army base
Learned you can't be a art teacher without being an artist
Looked up to Robert Frank
Things that I can imply from Annie
You can use same person, but different angels
Capture people in their natural element
Stuff can be captured during between big things Ex: rolling up a carpet
Best photography is what is around
Take every photo seriously
One thing that I've learned from Annie is that you can take photos of everything. You don't need a big set for photos. The most basic thing can be great, it's all about how you capture the moment. Taking pictures of peoples natural elements are best so they don't look uncomfortable in the picture. She shows even the best photographers mess up on some photos, so not ever photo is going to come out the way you want.
